Allen-Bradley® and PowerFlex® Drives: These drives provide motor control solutions for applications ranging from simple to complex.
Control Concepts has decades of experience in Rockwell Automation drive repair, service, and support.
Drives, including those from Rockwell Automation, are typically reliable devices. Regular maintenance can mitigate many issues, but challenges like loose connections, programming glitches, or power semiconductor failures can arise.
When facing problems with a Rockwell Automation product, our team is ready to assist in troubleshooting. Often, external factors rather than the drive itself cause the issues. If the drive is the culprit, we can provide fast and efficient upgrades and retrofits.
Rockwell Automation's automation solutions are tailored to specific industries, including:
Rockwell Automation products are designed with the highest quality standards, ensuring energy efficiency and reliability.

The most frequent fault that halts a drive is an over-current fault, which can have numerous causes. Our approach begins with understanding the dynamics of the motor and then delving deeper.
Our repair process begins with a thorough inspection of the motor drive and terminals. We conduct comprehensive tests before powering the drive unit to prevent further damage. Once powered, we perform various tests to ensure the drive's functionality. We check the motor drive and terminals for substandard connections which can be caused by anything from heat cycles and mechanical vibration to reusing or over-tightening torque screws.
We conduct diode and IGBT tests on the input/output power sections before applying power to the drive unit. This is to protect against further damage from a short.
We power up the unit and perform amp readings and output frequency tests, slowly increasing the voltage until the rated input voltage of the drive is reached.
If everything functions properly, we use the drive to run a motor through basic jog functions after backing up existing programs. If the motor does not run, we check the output voltages and current ratings going to the motor to check the drive function for motor rotation.
Most drive failures can be avoided through preventative maintenance, such as:
